About Friends of Noelridge

The Friends of Noelridge Greenhouse and Park are a friendly group of volunteers from Cedar Rapids and neighboring communities who assist the greenhouse staff. Our volunteers have a wide variety of skills that are matched to a need in the greenhouse or park.

Our primary task is to propagate and nurture the 60,000 plants that are found in all of the public spaces in Cedar Rapids. This includes city parks, the Eastern Iowa Airport, municipal golf courses, downtown Cedar Rapids, McGrath Amphitheater, and other locations. In addition, volunteers provide leadership for the many educational events that occur at the park and greenhouse. Volunteers lead informational tours for community organizations and school groups, assist the public during open house events, and help with maintenance and improvements in the gardens and in the Greenhouse.
